Hi,

I've cooler master v10 seance while .. and I've also Corsair Dominator DDR3 1866MHz 2GB*3

my problem is that my RAMs touch the heat sink !

so, is it supposed to been touch the heat sink or not ?

my other problem is the cooler master V10 doesn't give much cooling as it should be !

I OC my CPU (core i7 920 D0) into 4.00GHz and i test the CPU by Prime95 (Small FFT test) .. the result is the heat degree reach 81 degree in just 5min with stress !!

the volt used in OC is 1.20 for CPU

1.30 for QPI

1.80 for PLL

with disabling Intel HT and turbo !

room degree is 22C

My system:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 920 D0 2.67

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master V10

Motherboard: ASUS Rampage II Extreme

Memory: Corsair Dominator DDR3 1866MHz 2GB*3

Graphics Card: XFXâ„¢ HD4890 DDR5 1GB CF

Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 500GB*2 7200.12 in RAID0

Case: Thermaltake Spedo Advance Package

PSU: OCz GameXstreme 850W

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate - 64bit

Display: LG Full HD 27' M2794A

The RAM should not be touching the heatsink. Maybe because they are touching the bottom of the heatsink is not touching the CPU completely. The temps should definitely not be so high!

but when v10 is completely fixed on CPU and still touching the RAMs slightly .. dose that transfer the heat from RAMs to heat sink ????????

As long as the cooler is mounted correctly on the CPU, it shouldn't be an issue. That is, unless the heatsink is causing the memory to become unseated. It should be fine. Can you post some pictures?
