dmperdok 0 Posted November 8, 2007 Hello.... I just purchased a Real Power Pro 550W and installed it in my new Antec P180B case. The PSU mounts on the bottom of the case. My question is should I mount the fan on the PSU up or down? Thanks in advance.
CHEESEWHiZ 0 Posted November 8, 2007 If you mount it with the fan down won't it just be contacting metal?
dmperdok 0 Posted November 8, 2007 No between the power supply and the bottom of the case there is about a 1" space.
Karma Ghost 0 Posted November 8, 2007 I would say mount it upward. That way it has more chance to suck in air.
Fireheart 0 Posted November 8, 2007 I would say mount it upward. That way it has more chance to suck in air. I don't know about that, Karma. I looked up that case and it actually has less airspace above the PSU, than below. It's an air-chamber design. I'd install the PSU right-side-up, with the fan on the bottom - the case is designed for that. Also, that would prevent dust from simply falling into the open fan-duct and accumulating in the PSU. Karma Ghost 0 Posted November 12, 2007 I didn't realize it had an air chamber design... oops! Just go with whichever has more clearance then.
