Fan up or down?

Recommended Posts

Just got my stacker 830 with the Real Power Pro 1000W Power Supply installed.

My question is, should the PSU fan be up or down. Seems to me that (it is an intake fan) the air should be blown up into the PSU rather than down into it. What is the right way to mount this PSU?

You can mount the fan both ways. If you mount the fan facing down, it will help exhaust hot air from the inside of the case, although the PSU will run a little hotter, but if you mount the PSU fan facing up, the PSU will run cooler becuase it will be getting cold air from the outside of the case and exhausting it through the back. There is no wrong way to mount the PSU in this case.
