now do this at your own risk i been doin this for a lil while and i do know kinda on what i am doin . but go here and scroll down a bit you will see how its done ... http://www.coolermaster.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4555&highlight=poof

as for the 1.5 volt thingy what does it have in front of it .

Will try the jump tomorrow ...thanks!

nothing is in front of it...all that shows is this exactly:

+12V = 11.960

+5V = 5.191

+3.3V = 3.363

+1.5V = 1.257

CPU1 Vccp = 1.291

again thats from within the BIOS "hardware monitoring"

Thanks

OK I managed to jump it on with a wire!

Is there a chart to identify what I should be getting from each pin?

Im getting under +12 on most and havent seen one +5 ( all are 4.88 )

Thanks!

red 5 volts , orange 3.3 , yellow 12 volts ... your 5 volts looks decent expect from 4.75 - 5.5 on the red wire , 11.5 - 12.5 on the yellow , orange wire 3.0 - 3.7 ...

as far as volts is it ok ? now there are other ways to see if the psu is failing but its not by volt checking or anything like that ... but it will require some time and patience . temps will increase on several items like cpu video card and north bridge ( normally they all go , if it is just 1 thing then that is a cooler issue not psu ) random crashing playing a game or doin heavy work loads ( normally asscoiated with overheating as well )

I havent had any random crashes...and I still cant verify that the 1.257v (which should be at 1.5) has anything to do with the not powering up issue that remains.

It dosent happen every time..but when it does...I get a "weep" (noise like a partial boot beep) )lights flash for a fraction of a second then turns off. takes sometime 5 or 10 tries to get it to finally power on.

Thanks

Well I think I found it:

This CM 600W (RS500 PCAR) isnt enough power for the video card!

according to BFG it requires min. 20A +12v (28A for SLI)!

cm600 is 18A .... guess that proofs the reason either a 450W or 550W ANTEC didnt even turn on (15A and 17A respectively)

I looked quickly but didnt see any CM's rated at more than 20A

ughh
