need help with compatibility between RS-450-ACLY & asus

I've used the RS-450-ACLY in this set up for a good year:

RS-450-ACLY

Soltek SL-K890 Pro

Corsair XMS 2x512mb pc 3200 400 mhz

Raidmax case (forgot what it was)

AMD 64 3000+ S939

BFG 6600 GT PCI-E

Creative Xi-Fi extreme music

I decided to change some of the parts to this:

RS-450-ACLY

Asus A8N-SLI Premium

Corsair XMS 2x512mb pc 3200 400 mhz

Antec P180B

Creative Xi-Fi extreme music

AMD 64 3800X2

XFX 7600 GT KO

With the new setup, I can't power down using the button on the case. I have to flip the switch on the power supply. Also, when I first got the mobo, I was able to do a fresh install & get to the desktop but still couldn't power down either through the button on the front or through windows.

After I RMA'ed it & received it last week, it would not display any input from the computer on my monitor. I still could not power down from the front.

I am wondering if the power supply is not compatible with the mobo or if it could be something else totally. I would hope that Asus did not send back the board to me without completely testing it only to have another problem crop up.

Can anyone chime in here on what is going on or what I need to do?

Thanks,

Ethan

The psu is compatible with your asus mobo. That shouldn't be the problem

Agreed. I think you need to take this up with Asus a bit further. ;)

If you cannot turn the power on from the front of your case, you also might see about checking that switch on your case.

Sounds like a decent place to start, at least. Good luck!
