case fans won't reach

Recommended Posts

this is my first computer build and I have so much to learn.

I find that the CM case fans in my Praetorian case won't guite reach to plug into the motherboard. (well they'll make it but I would like to have some extra so I can hide the wires)

1? - Is there an extension cable available for this?

2? - I want to moniter the top front fan and the blowhole fan. Is this the best choice to moniter or should I just do both front fans?

There are extensions you can buy. One source for this is Cables To Go. You might also do a search for any Canadian companies that might have these. Most online computer accessories stores will carry connectors.

If your fan monitoring software or utility monitors only 2 fans, you should monitor the main intake and the main exhaust -- you'll have to decide which those are. You should have a device or software that will monitor all your fans and the temperatures of your critical components, especially if you over-clock or tax your machine in some way.
