FIRST OF ALL THE MANUAL LACKS DETAILED DIAGRAMS AND FAQS AND OTHER IMPORTNAT STUFF FOR NOVICE USERS LIKE ME

WELL MY PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE BLINKING (RED) I DISMOUNTED THE HOLE THING AND RECONNECTED EVERY CABLE IN THE BOX AND UP TO NOW Ii HAVE NOT BEEN SUCCESFUL IN STOPPING THE BLINKING I AMCURRRENTLY USING THE THERMAL SENSORS FOR EVERY ITEM EXCEPT THE CPU SENSOR IT CONNECTED BUT NOT IN USE.

vga,CASE,VGA THERMAL SENSORS ARE IN USE

THE FAN CONTROL CABLES ARE NOT BEING USED NONE AT ALL. THEY ARE JUST CONNECTD TO THE COOLDRIVE

aNOTHER THING I DISCOVERED IS THAT THE WORD CPU CONSTANTLY BLINKS ON LCD AND WHEN i SWITH TO IT IT SAYS

CPU(BLINKING)

OFF 0000

wHAT DO i HAVE TO DO FOR IT TO WORK CORRECTLY

FOR LAST THE COLOR BUTTON DOESNT SEEM TO WORK EITHER THIS WAY

:(

Please don't use caps, everyone won't take you seriously and it gets annoying to read. Have you double checked all your connections? All the temp probs have to be installed in the unit.

:D Sorry for the CAPS

Its just frustrating to buy something that lacks a good manual, the manufacturer assumes that your an expert.

Every cable is connected

I get the red blinking with CPU it says its off

it reads

CPU blinking

Off 0000

But the cables are connected to the cool drive not to the PC

There seems to be a lot of the same questions about CoolDrive 4's blinking red light being posted on this forum. Try searching the forum first before posting.

If the product were good I wouldnt be posting a message other people to read

I think the company should revaluate the the way it does its users manual take for example Thermaltake the website is helpfull no need to post questions like these.

http://www.thermaltake.com

And their products like hardcano do have step by step diagrams. not like my user manual.

Best regards

a frustrated customer.

Don't forget to thank the CM support guy for telling you that this issue was reported many times before.

He took the time to reply with "that" instead of offering technical support, or a link to a solution.

Oh, Have you guys seen CM's manuals? They are a joke, no wonder people have to come to the forums looking for help.

Anyway, If you want it to stop blinking, you MUST AT LEAST connect the CPU fan (or any other fan, but connected to the CPU channel) and its thermal sensor. The other cables or thermal sensors are not necessary.

Despite being a neat device I decided to trade it off some minor changes Ii added a twin fan for my hdd less expensive same remedy (cooling my HD)

I decided not to install after because I would have to modify my PC and buy more stuff which was not originally quoted.

Ill think twice before buying the product like cooldrive next time

Word of advice always read the manuals to see how helpfull they are

People at Coolmaster dont forget that not every one is an expert at installing device like yours. Next time consider some pictures OK

And next time Ill go with Thermaltake.

Yes, I have the same problem, Ive created a post, but I see now

what the answer is......

Thanks to Orion23...

Even though all I want to do is Cool my Harddisk, thats why I bought the

CD4.

The unit wont stop blinking RED unless you also connect the CPU fan

control and sensor.

Nice design feature that, make a HD cooler that only works by forcing

you to also use it to cool the your CPU.

The CD4 should be renamed to CoolDrive AND CPU because

it certainly isnt clear from the SALES Info that this device wont function

properly UNLESS you connect the CPU sensor and Fan control cable.

Well, to fix my mine, Im going to follow Orion's advice and switch the

control cables and sensor from the HD channel to the CPU channel.

If this doesnt work, Im sending the thing back for a refund.
