Does the Scout eSata port work with AHCI protocol?

Recommended Posts

Hi Gang,

I have an older Scout case (not the Scout II) with a built in eSata port on the top front. I am switching the HDD using IDE out to a SSD using AHCI. The HDD, CD drive and top panel eSata port are all plugged into my Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H motherboard Sata3  ports. If I change my port protocol from IDE to AHCI will the built in eSata port still work? I already know that I have to get a new CD drive because the one I have now is IDE only. I can't find any documentation on the eSata port in the manual or online.

Thanks for your help,
