Masterbox Lite 5 rgb won't register on cooler master portal

Hey, about a month ago i bought the Masterbox Lite 5 RGB, and quickly got all my parts into it. Tho i couldn't get the light in the fan to work beacuse i had an old motherboard, so i ordered the rgb controller. Now it is connected and it lights up when i start the pc. But when i download the Cooler Master Portal software i get the "Please make sure you are connected to the internet before starting/updating CM software" after looking the files of the CM portal it seems you get this error when it can't find a device connected.

<STR_NO_DEVICE>Please make sure that\r\n you are connected to the internet \r\nwhen you launch/ update the CM Portal.</STR_NO_DEVICE>

I have tried checking if the cable is sitting correctly.
