Missing LGA 775 Socket Type on Hyper 212X

Recommended Posts

I recently bought Hyper 212x to get it fixed in my Intel LGA775 Socket as the stock CPU fan started giving issues. Wherever I saw the product details of Hyper 212X I found that LGA 775 supported.

After the item got delivered, to my surprise, when I checked on the box, LGA 775 was not there on the supported socket list. When I tried installing I observed that the bracket is not aligning at all. Also, the product documentation that comes in the tools box doesn't specify installation for LGA 775 socket type. I am thinking to return the product back.

I am attaching image of the box that I received.

Cooler master silently dropped support for Intel's LGA 775 socket support?

Sort of - the new AM4 model dropped the LGA775 support.

But we can get you a bracket - our support team will get in touch with you.

Thanks for the info.

I thought I was left unsupported. I was disappointed as seller was not accepting return. I thought the cooler would be useless for me unless I upgrade Motherboard and processor which I can't do right now.

I am happy for the support. Support team member contacted me about this matter. Hopefully I will get bracket and be able to install the Cooler on my LGA 775 PC.

Please create a ticket via the CM fanzone and request the part there.

Usually, how long does it take to get an answer to the ticket?

And can the bracket be sent to non-us customers?

I honestly can’t believe i waited over 2 days for this kind of answer...

Dear Ricardo,

Thank you for your inquiry.

In the specs on the product page from the Hyper 212X, is socket LGA775 not listed:

CPU Socket:
Intel® LGA 2066 / 2011-3 / 2011 / 1156 / 1155 / 1151 / 1150 socket

AMD® AM4* / AM3+ / AM3 / AM2+ / FM2+ / FM2 / FM1 socket

However, when you look in the manual, you see how to install the cooler on socket LGA775.

You can download the manual on our website:
http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-212x-eu/

Can you install it on socket LGA775 how it's explained in the manual?

Kind regards,

Cooler Master Support

So, i should assume the box says it’s not compatible, but the manual shows how to install it...?!

I mean, do these people even take a look at their products?

Hello guys, i'm in the same issue regarding the 775 lack of support, the main problem is the piece that has to be mounted on with the cooler itself, the back bracket being ok in mounting. Can someone at Cooler Master help me with an old Hyper 212x mount part or an Hyper 212 EVO part? this guy here  has the old mouting part and it works (the backplate is the same as i also managed to mount that one using the first position on the backplate)
