Modded Seidon 120M

So...Anybody tried to mod a Seidon 120M to fit an old 7950?  I'm tracking down some screws that'll work, but my main issue is the GPU plate on the 7950 blocks my ability to lay the 120m down flush.  Sorry no pictures on me atm, but you can get a general idea by looking at a picture on google...

Basically, if you hold a credit cards edge to the gpu chip, it hits the plate surrounding the gpu, and you can see the smallest of spaces between the cc edge and the gpu chip.  I couldn't find where anyone had pulled off the plate, so i didn't want to risk it, and i wasn't sure if i should even attempt to do anything to get that 120 to fit flush on the gpu.
