ATX and Mini ATX

I heard that mini ATX and micro Atx can fit in standard ATX cases?

is this true? because i have a very old HP pavillion 8883 that iam not sure if it is ATX or mini atx, looks like a mini to me, will fit in a Centurion 5?

I'm positive that micro-atx boards will fit in standard atx cases. It should be pretty obvious if it's a mini/micro atx sized board. Standard atx boards should be around 12.6" x 9.6" - micro/mini atx boards look a bit more square-ish in shape as opposed to rectangular.

If you want to be sure it will fit, measure the distances between the screw holes on the board and compare them to the holes inside an atx case. :D

That might be iffy because some of the old vendor computers had proprietary motherboards. The Centurion 5 is compatible with mATX.
