Power Fan Speed control not working

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

Please see below my system configuration.

Case: AOPEN H600B + Airguide
Motherboard: ASRock B85M Pro4
Processor: Intel Core i5-4460
CPU Cooler: Scythe Mugen 4
RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix
Videocard: ASUS RADEON HD5770 1GB DDR5 HDMI PCI-E
Power: Coolermaster 600W Silent Pro
SSD: Crucial MX100 256GB
Hard disk 1X Hitachi 1TB (hdt72252 5dla380 scsi)
1X 500GB Samsung HD501LJ SCSI

I have installed everything but my "Coolermaster 600W Silent Pro" keeps running at full speed and I don't know how to control this.

I have connected everything in line with motherboard specs and Coolermaster 600W Silent Pro manual, but I have the feeling the Motherboard and the Coolermaster 600W Silent Pro don't connect somehow.

Does anyone have any suggestions to control the power fan speed?

Thanks
Willem.

Hello Willem,

Unfortunately the fan in the power supply is not able to be controlled through the motherboard. The Silent Pro power supply fan will increase/decrease RPM based on the temperature of the power supply.

Have you tried cleaning out any dust in the power supply?

Respectfully,

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for your quick response. I just updated my old system to the above new system and the fan control worked fine in the old system. Any other tips besides the cleaning?

Thanks,

Willem.
