Hyper 212 EVO fans?

Recommended Posts

The Hyper 212 EVO hasn't been discontinued, has it? I've been thinking about buying a couple of replacement fans, but every time I've checked the store over the past couple weeks they were out of stock.

jeff, quick google search and top result came up with this "http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-Hyper-212-120mm/dp/B0068OI7T8"At £25

The fan look to be me to a standard 120mm Fan, therefore you could buy any fan for it.

As for recomendation i use scythe gentle typhoons and i love em, however they are rad fans so are generally wider so check it fits.

will the plastic brackets for the original fan fit a standard 120 mm fan?

I have been looking at the fans available at http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=9_510&zenid=a5f908b0eb4afad715750546b2d40bb7. or would this one be better http://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Cooling/120mm_Fans/56160-SC-SY1225HB12SH

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Fitting look pretty standard to me, if it was me i  would fashion a fixing out of some wire for a back fan and run push pull configuration, but thats me allways looking for a project and going over the top.

This seem to have been convered quite a bit on forum see below for links:

sorry posted before i had finished

Out of youre links i picked up these,

Cooling option:      Scythe GlideStream 120mm 2000RPM Fan            114.0 CFM            38.0 dBA

quiet option:           Be Quiet! Pure Wings 2 120mm Fan                         51.4 CFM        19.2 dBA

Changed my mind on the Antec TrueQuiet 120mm Fan 35.8CFM, 19.9dBA

CFM is cubic feet per minute "therefore airflow" the higher the better but generally speaking the louder the fan.

But to confuse you somewhat not all cfm is the same, Static pressure can play a role "it ability to push/pull through obstruction", however its difficult to know which ones are going to do well at this the easy way to tell is the wider the fan the better it deals with static pressure.

Hope ive been some help

That has helped, thanks. I'm one of those people that knows how to use a computer well, but I hate having to fiddle with the insides.

Not that replacing the fan is a massive operation. LOL
