Connecting a Hyper48 to aerogate II

Recommended Posts

Well the annoying thing is that there's no red cable...

I've read somewhere that the yellow is power on this type of fan, but I'm not sure this is the case.

Kind of but it's a little bit smaller and the 'bumps' (don't know the word in English - maybe "slots" is better) are not at the same place.

(I'll post a picture in 5 minutes)

yes thats a floppy connector, the connector he is describing is similar ot the modem apeaker plug it has 4pins and looks like a 3pin fan header. yellow is probs speed detection my bet green is hte live power wire

i havea stock intel here for a 478pin p4 and hteres no red so i presume green is the power wire for your fan yellow is speed detection and black is neutral.

I've read it and found out that this kind of fan is supposed to be quiter than the 3 pins. Mine is noisy as :)... Not sure it's a good idea to remove this feature by connecting it to a standard 3 pin rheobus.

I think I'll close this topic and will look for a compatible rheobus.

Thank you guys for your help :D
