Centurion CM590. Fully Ascendant Airflow

Hello, thank you :), yes in a way are similar, both have been rotated but I think my design with the PSU closer to the bottom has the advantage to lower the gravity centre of the case plus the benefit of having the I/O connectors and PSU/VGA power cables all at the bottom, both designs have the advantage of having the video cards vertically oriented

Hello, was also necessary for me to modify what is usually the back of the case and in my case has become the bottom of the case, because this component was the weakest part of the Centurion 590 made with thin metal and plenty of holes, I made this modification using a CNC punching machine, below some photos, please note that heavy 2mm steel have been used for this modification

First Revision of the PCI slots and Motherboard tray seat.

Hello, I decided to extend a bit where the motherboard tray seats and to make rounded each of the four corners of the PCI slots, obviously this are small tweaks, below some photos of this revision

Stand-Off Modification:

To increase the heat dissipation through the motherboard PCB towards the motherboard tray, I replaced the 8mm stand-offs with shorter 4mm, and use a 4mm thermal pad to fill the 4mm gap between the motherboard and the tray, I already bought such large 4mm thermal pad but at the moment is there a temporary orange foam which is going to be soon replaced with the actual thermal pad.

WARNING:

To change the normal 8mm stand-off to shorter 4mm, is going to affect the distance between the M/B tray and the PCI slots, I sorted out this by moving the M/B tray 4mm towards/closer to the PCI slots.

WARNING:

To decrease the height of the stand-offs to 4mm it is necessary to be very careful with the protruding pins below the motherboard to avoid a short circuit. I spend half hour checking that ALL such protruding pins were 2mm or less than 2mm

140mm Noise-blocker PK3 modification:

Not too much modification of this exhaust fans, just the usual stuff adding black sleeve and heat shrink, the aerodynamic spinners for 120/140mm were available at Ebay, unfortunately not with the adequate colour and therefore was necessary spray painting to get the red version, the mounting holes were tapped for M5 white nylon screws

The feet of the case:

For the feet I use the heavy 3mm steel plate which is the maximum the CNC machine can punch, I wanted to use 4mm thick but overall the 3mm is enough sturdy to keep the weight of the case without deformation or flexing

Hello, I order the factory to punch and bend another two sets of the latest revision of the bottom side of my case (this originally was the back side of the Centurion 590) , next step I need to tap the PCI holes for the screws, later I have chosen to use the spot-weld method to weld together the two components of this bottom side, the spot weld develop a very clean joints without rivets or screws, finally I will sent both to another factory for the electrostatic powder coating, some photos are shown below

Hello, I posted below some cable management photos, eventually I am going to replace the original black nylon sleeve of the power supply cables with something more dense because a the moment is not nice to see the yellow cables through the original nylon sleeve
