Devastator Mouse wheel

Recommended Posts

I recently bought the devastator keyboard and mouse pack, and am very happy with everything but the mouse wheel. Often when using it to scroll through webpages, or using it in games, it will scroll to where I want, and then snap back the opposite way that I was scrolling. I have tried changing to scroll rate, but it still happens almost every time. Has anyone else had this issue, or is there a way to reduce the sensitivity?

Thanks

Frank

when it snaps back, is it snapping back all the way, or roughly just one notch on the wheel?

I have the same problem. The wheel snap back the opposite way that I was scrolling roughly just one notch on the wheel. I have try to scroll to bottom of one long web page and then to turn the wheel continuously from up to down. Every 5-20 seconds the page  return a bit up, just one notch.

It is my second mouse, the first has the same problem but more marked:every 3-7 seconds the wheel snap back a bit.

The same problem is shows in amazon.it reviews:

"spesso mentre vai in giu nella pagina di internet torna in su creando un effetto molto fastidioso"

(often when you go down in the web page it goes up)

"Giro la rotellina per andare verso il basso ed ogni tanto fa qualche scatto in alto, e viceversa..."

(turn the wheel toward down and from time to time snap up and vice versa) The customer has buy two Mouse Storm devastator with the same wheel problem.

http://www.amazon.it/review/R3OG6M2648KG0U/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00CUBQH3G

"quando scendo giù la pagina sale su"

(when i go down the page goes up)

http://www.amazon.it/review/R1CXIX5CRJ27B6/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00CUBQH3G

"mentre scrolliamo in su ci vediamo scrollare in giù"

goes up and the page goes down

http://www.amazon.it/review/R2O4LUKGMSZBN1/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00CUBQH3G

etc, etc.

If you want to see a video with this big problem there is a guy that scroll the page from up to down and the page goes a bit up from time to time:

My problem is less marked, less severe but it is still a problem.

I get the impression that this is a mousedriver problem.

Windows 8.1 thinks that the Devastator mouse is a tiltwheelmouse, allowing for horizontal scrolling by tilting the mousewheel. It loads a special driver for this purpose (pixart tiltwheelmouse.exe).

But the Devastator does not have tiltwheel functionality....

So I guess that windows simply loads the wrong mousedriver.
