Neptune 280L temperatures too high?

Recommended Posts

I have a brand new build that I got up and running about 24 hours ago.  When running prime95, the CPU cores are hitting 69-71 degrees Celsius.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this is too hot?  Everything was fastened and secured based on the instructions.  Could it be the thermal paste? Actually, is this the normal temperatures under a stress test with this cooler?

CPU is Core i7 4790k.

Hi,

Like mohdnoh told you (reseating could help). Also keep in mind the thermal paste might need some time to 'rest'. Also 24 hours of actual usage is recommended.

Good Luck! Pim

It's not overclocked right? And what about voltage? set to auto?

What is your idle temp?

What case did you install the Nepton in?

And last question: The fans and pump are connected right?

Hello i have the same issue. when i launch OCCT CPU  Test , it s fail the first seconds . CPU core are hitting 100 ° or less ( if i configure OCCT).

when i play CPU is hitting 60 °, i think it's very hot for a nepton. CPU is 4790K @ stock and turbo stock.

the thing that worry me a lot is the occt test. failing in seconds...

thanks for help. i followed the install notice and i have seen videos ...
