  1. Hi all, I'm looking to improve the cooling performance of my Cosmos 1000 case without getting involved in any heavy modding. System specs Asus p6T Deluxe V2 Intel i7 920 at stock speed Gigabyte GTX 460 Antec Truepower New 650 2x WD caviar black hdd What I'm considering are the following steps... -Overall cable mangement, no-brainer there. -Possibly swap out the bottom intake CM 120 S12 (1200rpm, 44cfm) fan with a slightly stronger one. - Add a 2nd fan bracket above the hdd bay with another 120mm -remove unused hdd trays, which will leave 4 of them empty. Any additional advice for how to keep more cool air moving through this puppy is appreciated. I'd like to avoid permanently removing the door panel or any modding that requires drilling or cutting, etc. Thanks, Mitch
  2. Thanks for the feedback. Interesting about the vga duct. I would have assumed leaving it more open would be best for a fanless card. I'll do some comparisons under load to see which way is cooler. -M
  3. I just transferred my system to a Cosmos case and LOVE the silence and design of this puppy. There are a couple of things I'm wondering though... 1. If I'm using one of those fanless video cards (XFX 7950GT) would I be better off NOT installing the vga cooling duct cover?. 2. The brackets for the 3.5" floppy seem to be hard welded to the bay walls. In the manual it shows them being removed to install the drive then slid back into place. Am I missing something? 3. Would these 3.5" adapter rails need to be removed in order to install the optional HD cooling fan? If so, back to my original question about how to remove them if they seem to be welded on. Thanks, M
  4. True, but I'd actaully settle for aluminum trim where all the plastic stuff is now (keeping steel for the rest). More of an asthetic thing to me than weight issue. -M
  5. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a Cosmos, but one thing about the case just doesn't do it for me...the black plastic front panel. I'v read rumors that CM may be planning a revised version in all aluminum, so I'm tempted to wait and see. I'm also considering getting the current model and try applying some brushed aluminum sheeting to the front.... http://www.alsacorp.com/products/sheeti ... uminum.htm ...but not sure how clean that would come out looking. -M
  6. So, any word when and if an updated Cosmos will come out? The only thing holding me back from buying the current incarnation is the cheap looking (in my opinion) black plastic door. If the door was aluminum that would just look so much better. Also, if they are planning clear side panes I really hope this is an option. I personally don't want to see inside my computer while the cover is on BTW, is the door on the current model reversible? Info on this is hard to find. -M
