Thanks for your response! The specs are as follows: CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5Ghz ( nothing changed from stock settings) GPU: MSI R9 270x 2GB ( nothing changed from the stock settings) Motherboard: M5A99X EVO R2.0 ( The one you mentioned) RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4x2 GB 1600MHz Case: Corsair Spec 01 Power Supply: Corsair CX500 Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB Case Fans: 2x Corsair AF120
  2. Recently I bought a Hyper EVO 212 CPU cooler and installed it, swapping it out with the stock cooler that came with my AMD FX-6300. The motherboard I have is ASUS MS A99 evo R2.0 and the RAM I am using is Corsair vengeance 4x2 Gb 1600MHz. During the installation process I got a trace amount of thermal paste that came with the evo on my motherboard but I cleaned it with some isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel. After installation I hooked the computer back up and pressed the power button, and though everything seemed to be working, I was getting a black screen and the DRAM LED (which I don't think had been on before) was solidly illuminated. I thought it had something to do with the ram because the cpu cooler was pushing against one of the sticks, so I removed that stick, but no screen came on. I looked up online elsewhere of the mounting bracket fitting tighter to the motherboard I have than other motherboards, and that I may have even crushed the CPU by tightening it down too hard, but I'm not sure how to check for that. My computer was working just fine before this. I am able to switch between HDMI 1 and 2 which shows up on the screen but not much else. I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else had this problem or found solutions? Attached is a vid of my computer when its turned on. I'm thankful for any help. _omputer_not.working-
